I’m Back
It’s been a long hiatus.
It was a personal choice when I decided to close my old blog without telling anyone else (not that it mattered of course—I hardly had a dozen regular readers). I’ve become too busy with my life, juggling a lot of stuff while keeping myself sane. And back then, abstaining from having to think of my weekly blog post seemed to be the easiest way to get more time to do work.
Not that I really gave up on blogging though. A few months after I decided to permanently close my personal blog, I became more involved with my work-related community. Shocking, considering that I’ve been a sort of solitary when it came to interacting with people with the people in my industry. But it just happened, and I slowly gained reputation in the community as one of those guys who knew his stuff.
And as anyone who’s wants to be anyone would know, it’s essential these days to have your own website. So I came up with a design, built it with all the bells and whistles and started cranking out some technical articles for the blog section. I’ve written quite a number of articles, a handful of which have been highly applauded in my community, and I’m quite happy at how it turned out.
But as fulfilling as that may sound, I missed writing personal stuff. I missed writing the mundane stuff, about the places I go to, or the people I meet, or how disastrous my last date was. I missed writing about my sex life (or lack thereof), or about the guys I fantasize about. I missed sharing my missed connections, my embarrassing moments on my way to school or the weird people I meet on the street. I miss going on emotional rampages against the things I hate or posting admissions about the little details that make me, me. So after a long, heated debate in my head, I finally decided to back to doing a personal blog.
And with that, please take your seats, turn off all mobile phones and other electronic gadgets, and relax. I’m Jake, and the show’s about to start.
